Capital Divided

Capital Divided

We are launching a new print to coincide with The Bank of Twinkle and Tinsel being staged at The Art Car Boor Fair on Brick Lane on June 9th, and our Affluence and Avarice exhibition at Galerie Michaela Stock in Vienna, opening on June 27th.

The print titled ‘Capital Divided’ is a maths sum which sums up the ethos of The Bank of Twinkle and Tinsel, which is that capital used with a conscience can create affluence for everybody. We arent prescribing a particular economic system, we arent communists and we arent against capitalism.

There is a well known quote by Gandhi which we have used frequently over recent months as it puts in to words how we feel:

“Capital as such is not evil; it is its wrong use that is evil. Capital in some form or other will always be needed.”
MOHANDAS GANDHI, Harijan, Jul. 28, 1940

We understand that there are people out there who simply understand money, they get how to generate money and how it works. But what we dont agree with and what we are trying to challenge is greed. We are suggesting that if we all took responsibility for how we all used our own capital, and tried to use some of what we have for the greater good then there would be more for all, mainly those that really need it.

In keeping with the idea behind this print we are going to give 20% of any sales of this edition to charity. At the Art Car Boot Fair we’ll be donating to their chosen charity Just For Kids Law.

The print is an A4 giclee on German etching paper and is an edition of 40. We’ll be selling it at a very low prince indeed, to make it a hopefully affordable piece of art for people. We’ll be selling the prints for £20 so £4 from every print will go towards a chosen charity. If you are interested in one of these prints please do let us know!

We would also like to say a huge massive THANK YOU to Mark from Atom Printing for helping us to make this print possible.
